I am primarily interested in social and political philosophy, broadly construed. More specifically, my work focuses on issues of political extremism, fascism, terrorism, and conspiracism. A few questions I am currently interested in include: Should we understand political extremism as value-neutral, or ought it be construed as inherently vicious? Do historical charges of "extremism" levied against progressive social movements, such as abolitionism or queer liberation, vindicate the notion of extremism's value-neutrality?; What forms of subjectivity and agency are predictive of extremism and/or conspiracism and how might new forms of agency and subjectivity emerge from extremist/conspiracist milieus?; How ought we make sense of marginalized actors within extremist movements whose participation in said movements appears, prima facie, self-undermining?; How might the exceptionalization of fascist violence and the threat of fascist takeover of liberal democracies occlude the global contradictions of colonialism, captialism-imperialism, and unequal exchange that have riven the third world?; How should we understand the relationship between fascism and liberal capitalism? Other areas of interest include Marxist philosophy, critical, feminist, & queer theory, social epistemology, the metaphysics of gender, and ancient Greek philosophy.
