Research Interests
My research focuses on Democracy, Public Deliberation, and Political Theory in the context of the internet. I like to think about these kinds of questions: How does online public deliberation differ from in-person political conversations? Can existing democratic and ethical theories (from philosophers like Rawls, Cohen, and Habermas) effectively account for how we behave online? Why is it so easy to voice our dissatisfaction with modern technology, yet so difficult to point out exactly what's wrong it, and therefore to change it for the better?
